Conquer the Cascades - Mt. Bailey

This will be our 3rd conquered peak we will be attempting in our long list of summits to reach. Mt. Bailey, at the edge of Diamond Lake is a moderately difficult hike up to around 9,500 ft. The hike it self will climb approx. 4,500 ft across the dome shaped mountain. This will provide some awesome views of the land around Bailey as well at the other peaks in the area.

Blazers Vs Spurs

We got an awesome opportunity to have a group of veterans invited to Blazers vs. Spurs on February 7th, 2019. We are seated in section 116. Tickets are limited and we will be selecting veterans based on certain criteria. Keep in mind, it is very crowded, very loud, and unexpected noises inside the Moda Center. email us at linkupvets@yahoo.com and tell us who you are, length and branch of service, what amenities you might need. Our goal is to get an even amount from each branch.

Deep Sea Fishing

  • 2030 Southeast Marine Science Drive Newport, OR, 97365 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Come join us for a deep sea fishing adventure with our awesome fishing crew! For this event we will take be taking 3 veterans along. All you need to bring along is gear for the wet weather as it is Oregon and very unpredictable, and a cooler to take home your catch. We will provide you with lunch. We will shove off at 0600 SHARP from the Newport docks and we will be dropping crab pots just outside the harbor, then we will fish about a mile off shore. If you get sick wear a patch or take some meds because it will make for a miserable day!

Our boat captain Mike, and veteran liaison Zach, are an amazing team that are dedicated to hooking veterans up with this trip. We have previously done 2 trips with them in 2017 and it was something you won't want to miss. Unfortunately, it is a first come first serve event (unless you have been before, we want to get everyone a chance), and we only have a few spots available. As of now we have 3 trips lined up so make sure to check the dates for each one.

For requesting a spot or other questions, message us here, our FB page, or text/call Mike at 541-905-3138.

Cpl. Matthew Lembke Regatta Run

About This Activity

The Regatta Run/Walk is a Tualatin Tradition.  It is a collaborative effort, serving to honor and remember Marine Corporal Matthew Lembke, a 2005 Tualatin High School graduate who lost his life after being critically injured in Afghanistan. 100% of the proceeds from this event go to a scholarship fund in Matt's name.

The course is fast, flat, and friendly.  It starts at Tualatin Community Park, 8515 SW Tualatin Road, goes along the beautifully scenic trails, over the footbridge, to Cook Park, and back along the same route. Breathe in the fresh air as you run or walk alongside the trees in their fall color splendor, cheered on by Tualatin High School's Cheerleaders and Dance team.

Best feel-good event ever!

Camp Adair Clean Up

Camp Adair Clean Up

Camp Adair was a United States Army division training facility established north of Corvallis, Oregon, operating from 1942 to 1946. During its peak period of use, the camp was home to approximately 40,000 persons — enough to have constituted the second largest city in the state of Oregon. The camp was largely scrapped as government surplus following termination of the war, with a portion of the site reconstituted as Adair Air Force Station in 1957.

It is part of our duty to preserve the old camps and establishments that outline the history of our great nation. Along side Samaritan Veteran Outreach we will take on this next clean up project. Please join us in renovating a piece of Oregon and WW2 history.

Conquer The Cascades - Diamond Peak Hike & Camp

DIAMOND PEAK - 8,750 FT

We are going to get one more mountain in this year. Thus far we have conquered the South Sister and Mt. McLoughin and would like to continue with a Diamond Peak. It is relatively a less difficult hike that the other two but with all the same pay off benefits. The views from the peak are amazing. Of course the usual service vs service banter and brotherhood will be ever present. If you haven't made it out to one of these you are missing out.

We will also be camping in the area of the trail head. There are some fishing spots close to where we will be at, so that will be taken advantage of. Bring your rod and tackle. Bring your sleeping systems. We will provide all food and beverage, unless you have your own preferences, I don't cater to gluten free anything that's on you.

We can provide gear of any sort that is needed by any veteran that wants to join.

Fort Hoskins Clean Up and BBQ

Fort Hoskins is on of the old Civil War Forts in Oregon. Their attempt to restructure this area back to the original state would be outstanding. So we are going to help a little with that. We will have a couple hours of clean up and then we will have a BBQ after. EVERYONE INVITED.

It is part of our duty to preserve the old camps and establishments that outline the history of our great nation. Along side Samaritan Veteran Outreach we will take on this next clean up project. Please join us in preserving a piece of Oregon history.
